AMANDA SIN, MScPT, BScFE, Registered Physiotherapist

Amanda joins our team bringing a unique skill set both as an experienced physiotherapist, and as an elite athlete. Since graduating from McMaster University 7 years ago, Amanda has balanced her physiotherapy practice with professional cross-county mountain bike racing. Amanda is a member of our Canadian National Mountain Bike Team, and has represented Canada at several international events and world championships.

Amanda offers an experienced skill set in the treatment of orthopaedic and sport-related injuries in children and teens. Her treatment approach includes manual therapy, exercise therapy with biomechanical education and training, and sport-specific conditioning.  Amanda brings a strong emphasis on optimal return-to-sport planning, as well as family-centred care and education.   She has additional training in the treatment of running injuries, bike fitting, and kinesio taping.  Amanda continues to actively pursue post-graduate education in Manual Therapy, Acupuncture, and Sports Physiotherapy.  Amanda actively promotes physical activity within the community both as a mountain bike coach and as an ambassador for Fast and Female, an organization aimed at keeping girls active.  She is member of the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia, the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and the Orthopaedic Division of Sport Physiotherapy Canada.

Amanda has recently relocated to the North Shore of Vancouver to optimize her training and we are thrilled to have her in the clinic to offer her expertise in orthopedic and sport-related rehabilitation. When you see her in the clinic, be sure to ask her about her upcoming racing plans and travels, or her Bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games!
