ANNETTE LEUNG, Msc, RSLP, Registered Speech-Language Pathologist
Annette’s interest in working with people developed through her years of volunteer work in women’s
shelters, retirement homes, after-school groups, and tutoring. She saw the power of building strong communities, and how fundamental communication was to form these connections, whether it was playing with your peers, to sharing stories with your family.
Annette completed a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Medical Sciences and French Language and Linguistics from the University of Western Ontario. She thought that speech-language pathology would combine the knowledge of her degree with her love of working with people to reach their full potential, and completed her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of British Columbia. She has worked with children and adults with a variety of communication disorders in many different settings, and values a family-centered approach to assessment and intervention. Seeing clients celebrate when they reach a personal milestone is one of her favourite parts of the job!
Annette is a member of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHHPBC), Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC), and the British Columbia Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (BCASLPA). She is passionate about professional development and has attended conference sessions regarding phonological disorders and intervention and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Outside of work, Annette enjoys exploring new places to eat, practicing yoga, hiking, and travelling. She is excited to be joining the Leap Therapy team!
