LISA HOLOWAYCHUK, BSc(OT), Occupational Therapist
Lisa has a lifelong passion for working with children, and has always known this was something that she would dedicate herself to. She is a positive and compassionate individual who values the importance of establishing a trusting relationship with the children and families she works with.
Lisa obtained her Bachelors Degree of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta (1996). Over 17 years of practicing pediatric occupational therapy, Lisa has provided services to children of all ages and diagnosis, including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, chromosome and genetic disorders, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and Sensory Processing Disorder.
Lisa’s commitment to implementing best practice has led her to take many specialized pediatric therapy courses, including feeding and swallowing, upper extremity/ fine motor development, postural control, as well as self- regulation and modulation.
With extensive pediatric experience and training, Lisa offers a wide skill and knowledge base to draw on, to provide creative and customized treatment strategies. She uses a holistic, child friendly and family-centred approach. Strong areas of interest for Lisa include working with children who experience feeding, sensory processing, and handwriting difficulties. Lisa also has developed additional knowledge within the areas of augmentative communication, specialized equipment, and home accessibility.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband, and spending time developing a strong relationship with her two daughters. She has relocated from Edmonton, and is looking forward making the North Shore home, and exploring all of the outdoor beauty this area has to offer.
Lisa is a member of the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC), the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT), and she is a Registered Autism Service Provider.
